Advertising partners
- Google (AdSense): Nothing yet: we have applied to Google AdSense and show no ads; the changelog records the date ads start. Then, when a page loads an ad or the consent tool: your IP address, device and browser details, the page address, and identifiers in Google's advertising cookies, used to choose and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Never your name, email address, account ID, billing information or the text of your searches. How Google uses information from partner sites
A new advertising partner is listed on this page and on the Service Providers page at least 7 days before its first ad appears, with a dated entry in the changelog and feed.
Where ads appear
No ads are shown yet: we have applied to Google AdSense, and the date ads start is recorded in the changelog on this page. Once they start, ads appear only on public record pages: filing pages, address pages and county, city and industry listings. On a filing page there are two units, one after the key facts and one after the filing history. There are no pop-ups, no ads inside search results, and no ads on a page whose address contains your search text.
Ads never appear on sign-in, account, settings, billing, pricing, upload, team, data-download or emailed-link pages, or on the API.
Accounts with the Unlimited plan see no ads, including during a free trial of it and for every member of a team on it.
Opting out of personalized ads
Opting out stops personalized ads rather than all ads. Any of these works:
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: the link in the site footer, which appears once ads start; it records your choice with the consent tool
- Global Privacy Control: turn the signal on in your browser or an extension; we treat it as the same opt-out
- Google Ads Settings: turns off personalized ads from Google everywhere
- optout.aboutads.info: the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out for many ad networks
- optout.networkadvertising.org: the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent tool asks for your consent before any advertising cookie is set, and you can change your choice at any time from the link in the site footer.
